Our Guets Say the Nicest Things...

"Spent two nights at Monmouth last month and have nothing but good things to say about the experience. The staff and service there was outstanding.
Wonderful epxerience and I highly recommend it for a visit to Natchez. Don't miss the great breakfast and try the chef's table at dinner. It was superb."

Guest Review (From Facebook)

Q. The best feature at Monmouth Plantation is... (you fill in the blank!)

A. Best???? Well I enjoyed the hammock for a coupla' of hours but before the hammock I wandered up to the main house and somebody in the kitchen went out of his way to serve me a cup of coffee in the tranquil courtyard-thanks whoever you are- and just before the cup of coffee, my wife and I enjoyed a leisurely stroll about the grounds right after we had lounged in our robes like we had the whole place to ourselves prior to awaking after a very restful night on a very comfortable bed which we had climbed into after taking a nice long relaxing bath after a superb dinner in 1818. In retrospect... just being is best at Monmouth.

Our guests say the nicest things!

“When you travel in the good Old USA, be sure to stay at the Monmouth plantation in Natchez, Mississippi.”

My girlfriend and I have been traveling around the world. We decided it was time to see parts of the USA. We chose going south. First to New Orleans, then on to Natchez Mississippi. Then we flew to Charleston, South Carolina, drove down to Savannah, Georgia, then to Jekyll Island Georgia and then home to Los Angeles. Our best spot was staying at the beautiful, romantic, 30 acre Monmouth Plantation in Natchez , Mississippi. We saw 10 giant southern plantations and houses in our travels. Nine of them were strictly old southern plantations dating from 1820. They were beautiful. Most had original furnishings from that period before and after the Civil War. All we got was a 30 minute tour costing anywhere from $12 to $30. We got all that at Monmouth during our 2 night stay. The most romantic setting you have ever seen. Giant Oak trees, small water ponds, spectacular floral settings and food fit for a king, or as we say in the USA, fit for presidents and was actually the home of Civil War generals. No better service anywhere in the south. They have personnel who have worked at the plantation for more than 20 years. Great smiles on their faces as they try to make your stay a happy one. Monmouth is just miles away from 7 other plantation houses and a short drive to a real cotton plantation with a real cotton Gin still in operation . The summary.... Romantic...Historic...Relaxing...Educational .... All with great luxurious accomodations. ..What Fun!... A must when traveling the USA.

Guest Review-

We were here for our 10 year. anniv. after staying here on our honeymoon in 1999. Loved it even more than we did 10 years ago. So pleasantly surprised we were upgraded from deluxe to superior suite when we arrived-Thank You! Very nice surprise-very appreciated. Half of my heart I have left at Monmouth. I've been home two days now and Oh, how I miss it! I took a 6 a.m. stroll down to the sanctuary while the dew was still on the roses and no one was awake yet. It was one of the most pleasant, relaxing moments of my life... there truly is No place else on earth like Monmouth...I'd love to live there! I am an American History teacher and I can't wait to teach my Civil War unit and share Monmouth's story with my students. I have made several posts on Facebook this weekend singing your praises and referring Northwest Arkansas friends to you all. I hope to return again someday. Thank you for providing such an awesome experience.

What pleased you most during your recent visit: I stayed for Valentine's last year. As a younger couple, it is sometimes hard to find a kind and caring atmosphere. Monmouth was that and so much more. When we were lost someone stayed on the phone with us until we pulled up. Everyone was so wonderful, so I have already made my reservation for Valentine's 2009. In addition, I refered my friend to Monmouth for her wedding. Thank you so much for being as kind and courteous as you were to us.

Our guests say the nicest things…

We just wanted to send a note and let you know how much we enjoyed staying at Monmouth. Everything was wonderful and your staff was the best! We especially enjoyed the chef's table.

One thing that stands out to me is that from the moment we arrived, everywhere we looked we saw the evidence of God. From the little note on the fireplace mantle to the gospel music during breakfast, it was amazing and such a blessing, we appreciate that!

We will be back, the good Lord willing.

Mr. and Mrs. Hernandez - Monmouth's Special Guests

Our guests, the Hernandez' wrote these words to Monmouth expressing their love and enjoyment of visiting with us. The Hernandez are certainly more to us as family than guests!

Mrs. Hernandez wrote:"They (Monmouth) may not have invented the re carpet treatment but they sure have perfected it. It's just a perfect place to come to and relax and rejuvenate. Friendly staff and knowledgeable. In fact we have a cat we named Hal, who is the "head of the plantation". He's the main reason we love it so much. We love Hal!

(Hal Davis)

The grounds are perfect for taking a leisurely stroll or just sitting out on the porch watching the squirrels play in the trees. The hors d'oeuvres and the food is delcious. Just a wonderful
place to tay over and over again. We know...we have stayed there probably going on 70 (Seventy!) times. We try to get back once a month. The last 9 Thanksgivings have been spent there. Go to Monmouth and you just might not can stop going.!"

Monmouth staff feels great gratitude to our loyal guests and we thank Mrs. Hernandez for writing this testimony.

Our Guests Say the Nicest Things...

My family and I enjoyed our stay very much and were happy to see such a pleasant and helpful staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful and much to my relief, this has extended beyond our stay at Monmouth.
Many many thanks,

Our guests love Monmouth and Staff!

Roy and Donna Johnston were guests at Monmouth during our beautiful Christmas season. Donna sent a note to us saying "Thanks for helping us have a memorable visit. It was too brief and we hope we can come again.” Donna writes "I was thrilled with our photos. Please enjoy.... and feel free to use if you'd like. We used the one of the two of us in the room on our Christmas card and told everyone about Monmouth!" Word of Monmouth is shared by our guests in the nicest of ways.
Our wonderful Hal -porter and most knowledgeable, helpful ambassador for Natchez- is shown in this photo from the Johnston's collection while at Monmouth. Hal stands out as one of our most unique and loved employees and you can see by the photo that he loves his work!

Monmouth Plantation - A Unique & Fabulous Place
Monmouth Plantation is not just a hotel. It is as an experience. Here we enter another world - the world of the old antebellum south - without injustice - only love joy kindness and good cheer. The staff reflects the spirit created by the owners Ron & Lani Riches. Monmouth at Natchez is an American treasure. Here the visitor can experience the authentic flavor of the old south - gone with the wind - but alive in the spirit of hospitality which is Monmouth. We highly recommend this unique and special place to everyone.
