Balloons over Monmouth

A multitude of colorful hot air balloons decorated the skies over Monmouth Plantation for the weekend of Oct.17-19th. The 25th annual Great Mississippi Hot Air Balloon Race was one of the most successful events with perfect weather and over fifty balloons which were sponsored by local and national corporations.
Friday evening the balloons were lit for a "balloon glow" on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi. Fireworks, live music, Southern foods, and children's activities were only a portion of the activities at the Balloon Races.
